Company History

In 2020, GA Meknett AS was founded because of a merger between two well-established companies, Meknett AS (founded in 2005) and Gassarmatur AS (founded in 1987). From its inception, Meknett AS had established itself as a significant player in the supplier market for the mechanical industry and had over time built an impressive portfolio of reliable suppliers and customers operating within a broad spectrum of Norwegian industry.

On the other hand, Gassarmatur AS originated from Norgas, which had played a significant role in the gas industry since 1906. The long and rich history of Gassarmatur AS contributed to enriching GA Meknett with in-depth experience and expertise in gas-related solutions.

GA Meknett AS has its production facility in Hagan in Nittedal and operates a sales office in Lillehammer, Dokka, and Knivsta (in Sweden). This strategic presence allows us to serve customers across a wide geographical area, while leveraging our combined expertise and experience to deliver first-class mechanical and gas-related services to the industry in Norway. The merger of these two companies has created an even stronger entity that is well-positioned to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by the industrial and energy sectors.

Key Products and Services

We have several major focus areas:

  • Fuel Cells: GA-Meknett’s fuel cells can be used as emergency power sources for critical or sensitive applications during power outages in the regular grid.

  • Fish Farming: Customized dosing cabinets that ensure oxygenation of water to achieve an optimal environment for farmed fish.

  • Gas Equipment: We are a total supplier of products and services within high-pressure gas products for the offshore, maritime, and land-based industries.

  • Industry: With strong manufacturers behind us, we facilitate and contribute with good solutions for Norwegian industry.

  • Kitchen Ventilation: Ventilation hoods are specialized units designed to effectively remove steam, smoke, odors, and grease generated during various culinary activities in professional kitchens. These hoods are tailored to meet the needs of chefs and kitchen staff working with different cooking techniques over stoves, hobs, deep fryers, combi ovens, and even dishwashers.

  • Robots: Collaborative robots, or cobots, are small, flexible robots that can automate everything from very simple tasks to more complex work assignments.

A large and significant assortment of quality products in milling, turning, welding, and pipe bending. Kitchen hoods for commercial kitchens with UV light and fire suppression systems. Approximately 5,000 in-house produced products for the gas industry are divided into four product groups:

  • Regulators
  • High-pressure hoses and filling units
  • Pigtails and manifolds
  • Dosing cabinets for the fish farming industry

We also offer service and repairs on products sold. At the factory in Hagan, we can also undertake assembly assignments. Services in construction and drawing work can also be offered. In addition to our products for a large market within the industrial and gas market, we offer our customers training/courses within our field and our products.

Apprentices

GA Meknett AS has collaborated with Strømmen VGS (upper secondary school) for many years and has regularly had students placed in work experience weeks, etc. We are an approved apprenticeship company for as many as 4 subject areas:

  • CNC Machining
  • Industrial mechanic
  • Industrial fitter
  • Welder

Customers

Our products are supplied to large international customers such as Agility Fuel Solution Norway AS, Kongsberg Automotive AS, Poweron AS, Linde PLC, and Nippon Gases. Through product development, we aim to develop new products and services for current and new markets.
